Eighteen Unknown Veterans to Receive Honors and Proper Burial

WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – The MISSING IN AMERICA PROJECT will conduct a ceremony in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Eighteen veterans whose unclaimed cremated remains have been in the care of a Hampton Roads funeral home will be honored.

Services will be conducted, with full military honors, at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA

The purpose of the MISSING IN AMERICA PROJECT is to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed cremated remains of veterans through the joint efforts of private, state and federal organizations; to provide honor and respect to those who have served this country, by securing a final resting place for these forgotten Heroes. The cremated remains will be escorted by members of the MISSING IN AMERICA PROJECT, Veteran’s Recovery Program, with American flags flying on motorcycles and vehicles to Quantico National Cemetery. All veteran’s organizations and any member of the public who would like to attend via motorcycle or vehicle are welcome to be a part of the escort.
